Parbois Place—Our History

Desiré Parbois (1861-1933) was born in France and came to the U.S. with his wife Josephine in 1888.  He was a coal miner and farmer.  He and his wife had several children who married into other Louisville families.  Some of his family members worked at the Monarch Mine.  He acquired several properties that were part of the ethnic neighborhood of Louisville that was called “Frenchtown”.

Garrett Mundelein moved here from upstate New York with a passion for green building.  After watching garbage trucks haul away construction debris, he became dedicated to building green from start to finish including managing waste during the construction process and utilizing local resources to minimize the footprint as much as possible. 

Rick & Risé Staufer established Staufer Team Real Estate in its current Old Town location in the old library building at 950 Spruce St #1B in March 2007.  Their “family” business rapidly expanded to the current “business family” of 12 Realtors and 3 admin. staff. Having grown up in small towns, Rick & Risé came to Louisville with a passion for customer service and community involvement. They are members of the Louisville and Superior Chambers of Commerce and the Louisville Downtown Business Association.
